Fixing Hollywood
Most people here are doubtless aware that television is full of generic stories and stock characters, while new films are often just sequels and remakes. What could be done to make something new, original, and most importantly, good? I just might have a few ideas. Think of this as the screenplay version of the freewrite prompts, if that helps.

Screenplay Suggestions
- What really happens after "happily ever after?"
- How do courtrooms, forensic labs, law offices, and other popular settings for drama really work?
- Write comedy using setups and jokes that haven't been done to death in sitcoms for decades. Mistaken identity plots, for example, are very rarely good.
- Can you parody something in a way that entertains both fans and detractors of the source material?
- Write a plot related to a complex current event that manages to be timeless and substantive instead of preachy and immediately dated.
Character Innovations
- A father who is not a complete moron (I am cautiously optimistic about The Incredibles 2...)
- A good guy suddenly realizes he has been doing bad things based on lies, but can't be the action movie hero we've seen before due to real-world obstacles?
- A smart character who is not a social misfit and/or asshole.
Hollywood can fix itself by decentralize from Hollywood. It’s the culture around it that is the issue. The reason it is boring is because there way to many overpaid people their and no one wanting to take to many risks. Thus you get what they can put numbers to. Even if those numbers are declining they can least have some predictable.
Plenty of talent out there that will work for a fraction of the cost. So money can be spent elsewhere like a plot.
I've not watch movies in a while from them. Everything is stale and beat to death.
It has become an ego trip circle jerk. Maybe it always has been, actually.
New innovations should be welcomed , new and talented actors should be imbibed into the system
New actors can't fix scripts with the same old problems though.
Then new ideas and innovation should be welcomed
