The Greatest Showman - A Musical Tale of P.T. Barnum

in #movies7 years ago

I went and saw 'The Greatest Showman' last night and it was a fantastic movie experience. I'm not going to lie, I don't do all that much research or trailer watching leading up to these movies so I was blown away by how much of a musical it essentially was.

Hugh Jackman absolutely crushes it as the lead and takes us on a wild ride through the life of a man who came from nothing and created one of the largest and long lasting spectacles the world has seen. While there was some pretty rough CGI moments, it didn't distract too much from the main plot line.

All of the musical numbers and dance routines were extremely creative and fun to watch, with the highlight being Zac Efron and Zendaya's acrobatic duet. This sound track will definitely be added to my friend group's movie/tv theme Spotify playlist and I could see some of these numbers rivaling classic Disney songs in popularity.

All told, it was a fun movie to watch with great music and visuals to support an extremely interesting story and era. I highly recommend seeing it.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to let me know your take in the comments.

Haven't heard much or seen any previews for this movie leading up to its release, but the leads and supporting actors look to be a solid grouping.

It's interesting that this is the 2nd musical Hugh Jackman has done on the big screen, the first being Les Miserable, while also being responsible for one of the most badass characters of all time (Wolverine). Needless to say, the guy is talented...

Yeah, he's got some range. I would definitely consider this pretty much a musical montage type of movie. Most of the serious interactions burst into song. Overall it's a cool take on a real story.

Would you put it in the same realm as Sweeney Todd without the Tim Burton flair?

So, I haven't seen Sweeny Todd. Is it worth putting on the list?

Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter put on one of their patented Tim Burton performances with some singing and a ton of blood.

Come to think of it, yes. I really enjoyed it.

It appears to be an exciting film and interesting

I heard it was excellent from my daughter. I must go see it.

Definitely worth the watch. Good light story with cool visuals and singing and dancing.
