Korean Mystery Thriller Forgotten

There are a lot of good movies in Korea. In this post, I want to share with you guys one of the greatest Korean mystery thriller movies in the past few years, Forgotten. Of course, Parasite by Bong Joon-ho is the most famous Korean thriller by now since it won the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Anyway, in my personal taste, Forgotten is also a very good Korean movie. Let's talk about it.

Jin-suk is a 21-year-old guy. His family moved to a new house with his father, mother and older brother. It was a happy family. And one rainy night Jin-suk's brother, Yoo-suk was kidnapped by strangers. After 19 days, his brother came back. But he is strange.

Yoo-suk didn't remember anything happened in the last 19 days. He was diagnosed with dissociative amnesia. His unconsciousness willingly eased the bitter memories.

In Jin-suk's eyes, his brother acts differently than before. One night Yoo-suk creeped out and Jin-suk followed him and found that he is a different person than he knows. He told it to his mother, saying Yoo-suk is not his brother, but a stranger who looks the same with Yoo-suk.

Then, Jin-suk's mother started to act strangely. She is a different person, and his father, too. Jin-suk finally found out that they are not his real family. Who are they? And why didn't Jin-suk recognize that they are only pretending to be his family?

Who are they? Why they are pretending to be their family?

The fundamental mystery of the Korean Mystery Thriller Forgotten is why all these people lied to Jin-suk and why they pretended to be Jin-suk's family. I cannot tell you guys this because it is the main theme of the movie Forgotten. You have to check it out yourself. Forgotten is now available on Netflix. You will never be disappointed.
