Oversight by who? The government? Yup..that'll work just fine. The government is not the least bit corrupt. In fact we have the best government that money can buy.
It's not clear if this is RoboCop the original (back long time ago) or the re-boot just a while back. The reboot has a bot better CGI. It's pretty violet to. Somewhat less 'grains of salt' is needed to suspend disbelief when watching the reboot. (only a dumptruck in stead of a ocean tanker full).
Never said it should be the government. It was the original, not the reboot.

Yeah..the original was kind of cheesy. You might like the reboot better.
Lot's ...LOTS..better CGI.
