In the land of ancient tales and lore,
A modern man seeks to explore,
The Monkey King, a legend bold,
In a world where myths unfold.

Nicholas Orton, a man obsessed,
With Chinese culture, he is blessed,
Thrown into a world beyond belief,
Where gods and demons bring relief.

But the script, it falls astray,
Trying to Westernize the way,
Of a classic tale from long ago,
The authenticity, lost in the flow.

With wooden acting and explosions galore,
The Monkey King becomes a bore,
Yet amidst the chaos and the strife,
A spark of interest ignites new life.

For those who seek to learn and see,
The essence of this ancient spree,
The Monkey King may not be grand,
But it brings a taste of a distant land.
