Poetic Film Review: We Were Soldiers (2002)
In the heart of Vietnam's jungle, they fought,
1st Battalion 7th Cavalry Regiment sought,
Under Moore's command, they trained and prepared,
For a battle where their courage would be shared.
Surrounded by the enemy, outnumbered five to one,
They fought bravely under the scorching sun,
Colonel Moore, a leader fierce and bold,
His tactics and strategies, a sight to behold.
But Hollywood's lens, it often distorts,
Mixing battle scenes with emotional sorts,
The music choice, at times inappropriate,
Diminishing the impact, quite unfortunate.
Despite its flaws, the film tries to show,
Both sides of the conflict, the pain and woe,
A reminder of the cost of war, its toll,
As soldiers fight for a cause, body and soul.
"We Were Soldiers", a tale of bravery and strife,
A reminder of the harsh realities of life,
In the midst of chaos, courage shines bright,
In the darkness of war, a beacon of light.
