Poetic Film Review: Kevin of the North (Chilly Dogs, 2001)
In the icy tundra of Alaska's north,
A tale of adventure and inheritance unfolds forth.
Kevin of the North, a travel agent by trade,
Finds himself in a sled dog race, his life remade.
With Skeet Ulrich at the helm, a Johnny Depp lookalike,
He embarks on a journey, his courage taking flight.
Natasha Henstridge, a beauty from the gold rush days,
Joins him on the trail, in unexpected ways.
But trouble brews in the form of a corrupt attorney,
And a British mercenary, ruthless and contrary.
Leslie Nielsen and Rik Mayall, in roles less than grand,
Struggle to bring life to the film's lackluster bland.
Despite its flaws, the film has heart and charm,
With a soundtrack of country music to disarm.
Kevin of the North, a forgotten gem of comedy,
A light-hearted adventure, worth a watch for its modest fee.
So if you seek a tale of daring and fun,
Look no further than this Alaskan run.
For in the cold and snow, a heartwarming story is told,
Of Kevin of the North, brave and bold.
