In Hollywood's quest for a fresh take,
High Crimes emerges with a legal thriller shake.
Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman shine,
But cliches and predictability intertwine.

A wife defending her husband's past,
Uncovering truths that were meant to last.
Military justice, corruption in sight,
A battle against power with all her might.

Director Carl Franklin's talent on display,
Yet the script's flaws lead it astray.
Despite the twists, the ending predictable,
Leaving viewers feeling less than invincible.

A partnership that shines through the haze,
But not enough to elevate the craze.
High Crimes falls short of its potential,
A formulaic thriller, merely watchable.

Rating: 4/10, a modest score,
For a film that leaves us wanting more.
Despite its flaws, it's worth a view,
For Judd and Freeman's dynamic duo.
