Capsule Film Review: The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
In 2013 The Wolf of Wall Street was supposed to do for white collar criminals what Goodfellas had done for small time gangsters. Directed by Martin Scorsese, this combination of biopic and black comedy is based on real life of notorious stock broker Jordan Belfort. The plot begins in late 1980s and follows Belfort's career from small-time trader into a leader of immensely successful brokerage firm, and the way this success brought too much sex, drugs and other excess resulting in clouding of his judgment and bringing attention of FBI to his questionable activities. The film, nowadays popular among Internet meme creators, is superbly directed and edited, employs great amounts of black humour resulting in three hours of quality entertainent. Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort providing one of the greatest performance of his role and Margot Robbie as his mistress displaying formidable breakout role. The Wolf, however, can't hide the lack of cathartic elements in Belfort's downfall, and the ending is disappointing, at least compared with Goodfellas.

Although I can agree with almost everything you have said here, I couldn't watch it till the end. (That's why I said "almost" as I, in fact, don't know how the movie ends.)
From professional perspective I'm sure the movie should receive high grades, but as being that kind of viewer who can't avoid to get emotionally involved (this way or another), I just couldn't stand it.
I just hopped to your Wordpress blog to see what you've got there. Found a fresh review of Siberia. Didn't watch it yet. Despite your quite poor rates, I am intrigued now to see it.
It must be because I like Keannu Reeves and don't see him or his acting as a "Slavonian oak." - lol 🤣 (Btw, like the originality of the expression. 👌👍 )
