"When Fact Met Fiction - Welcome To Southern Sunset" - Episode 1 Season 1
First episode of "When Fact Met Fiction - Welcome To Southern Sunset"
(10 minutes)
Producer: Liner House
My purpose of posting is to gauge the interest in the steemit community. The goal is to persuade the producers (my clients) to sign up to steemit and to place their content/new projects into our awesome community.
Its only 10 minutes (no commercials)... so grab the popcorn and enjoy! :)
Comment If You Like, Feedback Appreciated
If you like the episode, please share your thoughts in the comments below. I will be sharing the input received directly with the producers.
P.S. Tag Help Needed
I'm not sure what the most effective tags for this content would be, so if anyone has ideas put them in the comments so that I can tag the future episodes to maximize effectiveness.
Greetings! What's your hoped for demographic with this specific series? And how much time do you have to sell this to the community?
Since you ask about tags, you could look at using a tag or two where a good chunk of your demographic might be. Love and comedy both seem like a good idea, along with the story and the video tag @wanderlass is suggesting. That would leave one more. If you can't find one specific to your demographic one suggestion I'd make is considering the life tag, since this looks like a sit-com.
I've also read advice that creating your own tag and then regularly populating it with content is a good idea. Something like Sit-Com or Rom-Com maybe?
I haven't tried creating my own yet because I think it's too soon for me, but it's something to consider.
Good luck with this. Of the things I've seen here so far, this is one of the more ambitious tests of what the Steemit community could do. I hope whatever is best works out for you.
Finally @glenalbrethsen, I can now get to you... I've seen your comment all day on the post but for some reason I missed it in my feed. (I was unable to do anything all day because of the loss of bandwidth we are going through right now).
First, I would imagine you hit the demographic perfectly... and I also like the idea of tagging the show with its own tag making it easier to find older episodes. Thanks for those suggestions.
I'm also in agreement that its a challenge to figure out exactly how to position it so that people get into it here and actually consume the content. I'm encouraged by the decent reception its received considering I'm not the producer or an actor with the show. I'm sure if they were directly updating behind the scenes issues or having ongoing meet the actor sessions... ie having some real interaction with the steemit community, then I think the numbers could go through the roof.
I appreciate you taking the time to both offer your insight and to give me some direction. I'm glad I met you on the other page the yesterday. I can tell you're a good guy and I happy we connected.
Thanks again, cheers :)
I'd watch this if it were on Steemit. I hope your producers decide to post this content here. I think they will be happy with the results. I will resteem this post.
Also, you may want to consider dTube, a decentralized app for video like YouTube but built on the Steem blockchain and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS).
Thanks @bbrewer I appreciate the feedback and for the info on dTube... I have heard about dTube a lot over my first 3 weeks, but I need to learn more about it so I will take your advice and look into it. Thanks for the heads up on why its better than youtube (haven't heard that before).
And I do appreciate you letting me know you'd like it to be here... I will relay that info and hope to get them to join. Cheers!
Good morning over there @davemccoy ! Looking at the current top tags, there's #story and #video with high pay outs. Although i still can't understand how tagging works if there are several posts for that (like you compete with a lot of people posting using the same tag) but pay out is high. You can filter it by pay out/ number of posts:

As always @wanderlass, I thank you for your advice and wisdom... I didn't even think about video as a tag. And good evening to you and really really liked your post last night about what's happened to you since joining steemit. :)
Haha it's not really wisdom, I'm also not so sure but I found that tags link. I'm sure you will get the right answers because you can get a lot of people here to share their thoughts in no time.
About my post, that was actually "dead" for 2 days and then you resteemed it and I'm getting a lot of positive comments from the community today. You're so powerful! Thank you :D
lol... you flatter me @wanderlass... you are the person I will always be chasing because you have some serious skills ;) ... I'm just happy to swim in the same waters as you :)
keep up the good work!
I feel a sudden urge to have peonies on my decking. Just about to go and watch episode 2, but I'd definitely love to see this on Steemit. I can't comment professionally, but as a consumer, I think that there's massive potential in using Steemit as an outlet. There's an ever increasing variety of new people joining this community and it makes a refreshing change from the crypto currency/ technology posts.
It's a way of marketing series to a wide audience, and getting paid for doing it.....an advertising agency's dream. I'm off now to see if the ice maiden will succumb to the charm's of glistening biceps....ooer! 🤭
lol... I can tell you watched... And I won't spoil it for you ;)
Awesome that you gave me feedback too, I'm going to show these comments to the producers and they do make a difference. Thanks for taking the time too, you're terrific and lots of fun too :)
Anytime. Ahem..... episode 3?!!!
its out... lol :)
Woohoo!!! 😆
Sound like @glenalbrethsen has good suggestions for tags. Someone already suggest uploading to Dtube.
Are all the episodes 10 minutes long? How many episode are there? If all the episodes are 10 minutes, I suppose that is to maximize views? Are Carol and Mondy stage actors?
This episode didn't grab my attention till the end. Rom-coms aren't usually in my video queue, but I'll watch a few more episodes to see if the story and characters grow on me.
8 episodes in the season and they are all in that range... I've seen as low as 8min and a little over 10min on 1.
I'm posting them here as episodes to see if what kind of viewing they receive (so that I can relay the information to the producers). I felt is was best to simulate it as they would be normally released one episode at a time. That way if someone caught episode 4 and liked it, they could go back and watch the other episodes. That's also the way they placed them on youtube.
As far as dTube, I will certainly bring that up and have gotten myself a little more familiar with it since @glenalbrethsen made his suggestion. I agree with both of you.
I don't know about the actors or than they told me that in NC it is a right to work state and some actors are SAG actors and some are not.
If the interests is here at steemit for their productions (they have several more series too), then I will encourage them to join us and become part of our community. My goal here was to run a test and see the results and feedback.
And on your feedback about not grabbing your attention til the end, that is exactly what I wanted... "the truth"... So I will pass all of this along and I thank you very much for taking the time to help by offering your insights.

I just saw your post now and watched the first episode and i'm very curious to watch the rest of them. I think they will bring needed content to the Steemit community. Since they are your clients, I want to ask you if they do tailored episodes and sell them to their clients? If they do, do they do it from A to Z, like from writing the script till the final product is available? I found the actors natural and talented. If they can produce episodes around business / comedy / crypto education themes they would have a much popular platform here.
I'm not sure about he answer to your question, but when I'm finished putting out the whole series I will give them the results along with the feedback. I agree with you that it would be an interesting time to do an episode with crypto (sorta how they did a few shows around the computer geeks back in the late 90s. I will share you input @nuridin and if you would also like to have a conversation with them directly, I could arrange that too. Let me know and again, thanks for the ideas.
Sure, that sounds good. I'd like to have a conversation with them about the possibility of them doing some tailored episodes for educational purposes.
I will bring it up and let you know... This is part of the record so it will be easy to remember ;) ... I expect I will be done with the analysis and figure out how to pitch it within the next 10 days. So if you haven't heard back from me about it by then, then just give me a reminder when you think about it.
Thanks again @nuridin
