Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
The magic is back. In David Yates’ upcoming prequel “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” the continued adventures of the semi-hapless, totally-beast-loving wizard Newt Scamander take wing, thanks to some wizarding baddies that just won’t disappear. The film features new and returning stars, including:

At the conclusion of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” Newt and his pals revealed dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (played by Colin Farrell in disguise,
then Depp), who was soon captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). Ever-wily, Grindelwald managed to escape and is now hellbent on
gathering new followers to his cause (which mostly consists of a burning desire to raise up pureblood wizards over all others).

“The Crimes of Grindelwald” will see Newt being enlisted back into the fight against Grindelwald, care of Albus Dumbledore (now played by Law),
and will follow the pair as they try to derail Grindelwald and fight rising resentments in the wizarding world.
their intriguing subplots to be on the lookout for include the return of Miller as Credence Barebone (thought dead at the end of the first film),
Dumbledore’s personal pain over his relationship with Grindelwald, and perhaps even a love triangle between Newt, Tina (Waterston), and Leta Lestrange
(franchise newbie Kravitz). You can also bet on the appearance of plenty of brand-new fantastic beasts.

The film is the second planned feature in a five-film series that will follow the adventures of Newt and his various (fantastic) friends, both beastly and otherwise magical. Check out the first trailer for “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” below.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” will open on November 16, 2018.
