RE: Wonder Woman (film): A great "origin" story

in #movies6 years ago

When watching this film, I always imagined another film. Moreover, that is "The Fifth Element". Leeloo was also created to protect humanity, it is a pure, uncluttered ideal. Strong, smart, instantly learning new, but seeing our world for the first time. Leeloo had Korben Dallas, Diana has her Steve and they are the first to touch the goddess, her first Magi, her flock, amazed at the greatness of her spirit, her nobility and beauty.
Diana goes through the same crisis of faith in humanity as Leeloo – are we worthy of salvation, is it possible to save us from ourselves. It is also terrified of war and hatred in the hearts of people, of the willingness to destroy and to suffer. Moreover, it evokes the same response as Leeloo in its time. Moreover, the fact that both are perfect does not make them Mary sue (a hero incapable of making a mistake or in any form of being defeated)-this absoluteness is justified by both the plot and the demands of the story. As in the case of Leeloo, Diana landed her naivety and ignorance of our world, she often behaves like a child and constantly demands to take her to war, because there people suffer.
Moreover, it is a pity that it lacks some key scenes of "the Fifth Element". The picture would be so much stronger if we saw Diana, who was still defeated by enemies, wounded, crying and defenseless – like Leeloo in the ventilation system. In need have support. This would not detract from the image of a strong independent woman, as in the case of the heroine Milla Jovovich (God, how she was good in this role), but would allow us to understand the limits of Diana's capabilities, to see a person in her even more clearly.
