Exhuma 2024 Movie Review

Exhuma is a Korean horror mystery thriller film that has now been released on VOD. Unfortunately, for Hindi-speaking audiences like us, it has not been dubbed in Hindi. It might be dubbed in the future. Well, I have seen this film and in this review ride, I will share my good and bad experiences after watching it.

First of all, let me tell you about the story of this film in simple words. The story revolves around a group hired by a wealthy Korean family to investigate a supernatural case. To find out more about the case and the outcome of the investigation, you will have to watch the film.

Exhuma Review

So, this film is actually a ghost horror story. The first half is quite good where mystery, suspense, and tension are built up slowly in a very effective manner. The creepy atmosphere and uneasy feeling remain intact throughout the film.

The first half of the film is a fun ride, full of suspense, mystery, and tension. But in the second half, these exciting elements disappear, making it less interesting.

While you will experience some intense and creepy moments in the second half of the film, the entire movie offers a good dose of these eerie scenes. The horror elements, though not truly scary, are enjoyable to watch.

Additionally, the Korean rituals depicted in the film are intriguing. However, many aspects of the story in the second half needed better explanation and were not fully developed.

The audience who do not know anything about Japanese or Korean history might be confused by the things going on at the end of this film. Overall, the ending of this film could not create the strong impact that it should have.

Apart from this, I am sure you will find some characters likable and will want to know more about them. Unfortunately, the film does not provide much detail about these characters.

Conclusion

In short, in my opinion, this is a decent horror film whose first half is much better than the second half. Horror fans should check out this film once. Yes, if you want, you can watch this film with your family, but keep in mind that this film shows blood or violence.
