Background of the Movie

Transformers is a science fiction film based on the toy line of the same name created by Hasbro. It was the first instalment in the Transformers film series. This first Transformers movie is released in the year 2007. Transformers is directed by Michael Bay, a well-known director.

Summary

A long time ago, far away on the planet Cybertron, there is a war between two factions named Autobots (led by Optimus Prime) and the Decepticons (led by Megatron). This war started because of the AllSpark i.e. a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to however possess it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the AllSpark off the planet, but Megatron swiftly searched for the AllSpark. And he’d tracked it on the planet Earth, but his too much desire of power sends him into the Arctic Ocean, and the frost paralyzed him. Megatron’s body is later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, but before Megatron got into comatose state, he used his last energy to engrave into the Captain’s glass a map showing the location of the AllSpark, and to send a transmission to Cybertron. the glass with the engraved map end up in the possession of his great-great-grandson, Sam Witwicky. In the present Sam buys his first car, a Chevrolet Camaro, and later discovered that his car has life.

In modern Qatar, Blackout (a member of Decepticons) attacks and destroys a United States military base to find information on Megatron and the AllSpark, but he failed. A team of Army led by Captain William Lennox escape across the desert, pursued by Blackout’s drone. They fight the drone off, aided by aerial support, and travel home with the drone’s stinger, so they can examine it. At the Pentagon, Secretary of Defence leads the investigation into the attack. A Sound analyst named Maggie Madsen captured another Decepticon named Frenzy, hacking into the network while on-board Air Force One. Even though the hacking is cut, Frenzy still had downloaded a data about Archibald Witwicky’s glass, and because of that Frenzy and another Decepticon named Barricade tracked down the great-great-grandson of Archibald Witwicky, Sam Witwicky.

Sam and his high school crush Mikaela are rescued by the car of Sam who turns out to be an Autobot scout Bumblebee, but he is mute and has to communicate through his car radio. After the attack of Barricae and Frenzy to Sam, Bumblebee send a transmission to other Autobots to come to Earth, after that other Autobots arrived. Bumblebee takes Sam and Mikaela to meet the new arrivals – Optimus, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet. Optimus explains the details of their situation, revealing if Megatron gained the AllSpark he would transform Earth’s machinery into a new army and eliminate mankind. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots travel to Sam’s house to retrieve the glasses, but the teenagers are captured by agents of Sector Seven i.e. a top secret government branch led by Simmons. The Autobots stop the agents, but they call for backup, who take Sam, Mikaela, and Bumblebee into custody, while Optimus obtains the glasses.

The groups related to the Transformers are gathered together at Hoover Dam by Sector Seven’s director. Inside, the group discover the frozen Megatron and the AllSpark, but Frenzy, who hides in Mikaela’s bag, summons the other Decepticons to attack. Bumblebee is released to protect the AllSpark, shrinking it down to a handheld size so it can be transported to safety. Megatron escapes the dam after thawing out. A long battle occurs in the City, with most of the Decepticons being killed, but Megatron murders Jazz. He prevents Sam’s attempted escape with the AllSpark, and begins to fight Optimus. After a long fight Megatron seems to get the advantage. Optimus then tells Sam to push the cube into his chest in order to ensure that the cube will be destroyed, but the consequence is that Optimus will also be destroyed together with the AllSpark, but Sam put it into Megatron's chest instead. Starscream and Barricade are the only Decepticons to survive the battle and escape.

Optimus salvages a shard of the AllSpark from Megatron’s body. The United States government shuts down Sector Seven, disposing of the dead Decepticons in the Laurentian Abyss. Sam and Mikaela then start a relationship while the Autobots secretly hide out on Earth, Optimus sends a transmission into space inviting any surviving Autobots to join them.

Plot Analysis

This film is very enjoying to watch because it is like bringing you to the actual film, you start imagining that there are real robots around us. And the details in the movie are not all fiction; some of them are well searched by the writers. So it is not just exiting to watch but also informative. There are also funny scenes in this movie.

The storyline is well arranged, the story of the film flows smoothly. Thanks to the writers! This movie is exciting to watch even for me, a teenager. Transformers is a movie for all ages!

Actors Analysis

The characters in the film are all reputable and admirable actors. There are actors and actresses that really stood out. Like Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro, and Tyrese Gibson.

Shia LaBeouf is the hero of this movie, he is Sam Witwicky. The way he portrayed his role is very admirable. Because he can go crazy, depressed, and a brave man in the movie.

Megan Fox or Mikaela Banes the girl hottie in their school, and she is the one who got Sam Witwicky’s eyes. She acted her character so well even though her character have many emotions to portray.

John Turturro known as Captain Simmons in Transformers, the leader of Sector Seven. He had an excellent job in playing the role, the bravery and the craziness of his character is well played.

Conclusion

Transformers was one of the greatest films produced because if we based on the earnings of this movie, people really favoured it. It also got famous throughout the world. The story of the film is very interesting for all ages. Truly, Transformers is people’s choice for the science fiction film.
