MovieNews: Box Office 2017 was Disneys year

2017 became Disney's year. The Mickey Mouse company dominated the global Box Office with six seats in Top 10. Two movies from Universal Pictures, one from Warner Bros. and then a single Chinese feature had to fight for the remains in the shadow of Disney.

With a late December start, "Star Wars The Last Jedi" couldnt catch "Fast & Furious 8" and "Beauty and the Beast".

On the long run, it is certain that "Star Wars The Last Jedi" will be the 2017 movie that will earn the most.

All three of the MCU movies (also from Disney) reached the global top with "Spider-Man Homecomming" at the top, followed close by Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor Ragnarok.

However, there was also a visit outside of American Hollywood in the form of the Chinese action movie "Wolf Warrior 2", which has primarily sold their tickets in the big home country.

It is also noteable that an animation movie (Despicable me 3) reached the box office list this year.

At the top of the list we find Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, followed closely by Fast & Furious 8.
