Movies that predicted the future
Everyone knows that movies are simply fantasy stories that entertain people. We laugh in our favorite comedies, we cry in heartbreaking dramas and we are excited by the special effects of science fiction. This is probably the best thing you can do on Friday night.
But we rarely sit and wonder if the movie we are watching can foresee the future. Sometimes science-fiction films compete in the creation of futuristic opportunities, but most are unrealistic. Still, there are those who, with astonishing accuracy, have shown things that are happening today. Here are some of them.
Escape from New York City
The film about New York is not quite true except the use of holograms
The day after tomorrow
In "Tomorrow's Day", ocean currents stop due to global warming, creating huge storms and a new ice age in the northern hemisphere. New research by the Institute of Oceanography at the University of California at San Diego shows that there is evidence that this can happen very soon.
Rufus Jones for President
Released in 1933, "Rufus Jones for President" is an African-American boy film that has been elected president of the United States, predicting the election of Barack Obama.
Terminator
Though we have not understood how to travel in time, or so we think, Terminator predicted the use of unmanned aerial drones.
Jetsons
While we still do not have flying cars, the film shows things like automatic vacuum cleaners, digital newspapers and video calls.
Strange science
In "Strange Science", two guys print a woman on a printer. Today we have 3D printers, nothing that they can not print live people, but they can make a firearm.
Until the end of the world
"By the end of the world" may not have been good at boxing in 1991, but forecasts for the future are quite specific. He predicted how addicted we would be to Skype, iPads, flat-screen TVs and search engines.
Dick Tracy
It was only a matter of time before we had the phone clocks that Dick Tracy predicted. And here, intelligent watches are already invented and we can do exactly what Dick Tracy has done for a long time.
She
She is for a person who falls in love with her personal computer and describes a near future where people regularly use their personal helpers to help them with everything. At the moment this is happening with new developments in artificial intelligence technologies such as Alexa, Siri and Google.
Giving out free votes to the little guys, I hope you appreciate.
