RE: Crazy Rich Steemians

in #movie6 years ago

Moviepass is limping along. We got the annual pass in January and proceeded to get our investment back within the month (thinking that the business model just couldn't be sustainable). So now every movie we see is just gravy from the financial perspective.

Until recently we could see any movie at any time without issue. Currently, it's a kind of movie roulette to see which films and which showtimes are available through the app. Since we go to the movies several times a week and our schedule is flexible it's not really that big of a deal for us. They've also added the annoying requirement that we upload a picture of our ticket for verification - so apparently they ran into some fraudulent use.

With the new pricing structure and their Uber like surge pricing (which I'm not subject to until my annual pass expires) I probably won't renew or it's possible they won't even be around anymore to renew anyway.

Well as long as you didn't buy their stock too ;). I know someone that "bought the dip" as a token of thanks for letting him see so many movies haha. And it's still going down...

Thankfully, no, I did not buy the stock. But it's just acting like it, since just about every stock I do buy then proceeds to fall off a cliff 😂 - investing 101 - don't buy any stock Tamala owns.
