Avengers: Endgame Review - Retaliation for the Super Villain
Hollywood’s biggest surprise this year is by the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe era with the presence of Avengers: Endgame (2019), at least for the first phase. I agree with the reason that all stories have an end. Because if it’s endless, then it will bring boredom, especially for Marvel fans around the world.
A year earlier, when Avengers: Infinity War provided silence for Marvel fans at the end of the movie, the presence of Endgame provided the right answer to the use of the term “infinity war” last year. Thanos, who has tremendous power, has conquered half the population of the universe, and finally now, in a powerful way the Avengers complete their mission.
In the Endgame story, there are only seven Avengers who are still safe, others are “destroyed” after Thanos snapped his fingers. The story of revenge began again after 5 years of the Infinity War incident, and this is where the tough challenge is charged to the remaining Avengers crew.
As we know, a month before the Avengers: Endgame movie was released, Captain Marvel has opened a new story, which seems to be a kind of clue that Captain Marvel will also be involved in helping the Avengers team to defeat Thanos. And that is true, we have seen Captain Marvel in an official trailer of Avengers: Endgame and in the movie.
The Avengers Live Apart
There is no longer a building that lives together, each superhero chooses to run their days apart, Tony Stark (Iron Man) himself has a daughter and lives near a lake with a simple house. Until when a mouse accidentally pressed the engine button that returned Scott Lang / Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) who had been in the quantum world for the past 5 years.
Scott Lang then rushed to the Avengers headquarters which was only occupied by Natasha Romanov (Black Widow) with Steve Roger (Captain America). Finally, they have a way to enter the quantum dimension and steal the time gap, it can be used to collect infinity stones long before Thanos owns it.
This is where all the remaining Avengers teams enter the time gap to go back to the past, all the films made by Marvel are aired again, we feel nostalgic with The Avengers: 2012, Thor Ragnarok: 2017 and Captain America: The First Avenger which has a year setting 40’s. Yes, this nostalgia has taken me and other viewers astonished, the mind feels like being satisfied, and as if this will be the end of all the Avengers series.
No wonder, Marvel does not show many scenes in its official trailer, only footage from past films. And this reason makes a lot of sense when you watch this film. A sad story mixed with emotion has ruffled my heart, and I am very happy, of course, there is sadness left after this movie ends.
There is no Credit Scene
Unlike previous movies, Marvel usually always slides credit scenes at the end of the film, this time it’s not there. And it’s very wise because the audience doesn’t need to wait for the next Avengers series. Please enjoy solo films, including Spiderman – Far from Home, which comes after all the Avengers stories succeed. Happy watching!
