13 Demons - a review

in #movie7 years ago

For some reaons I love movies which involve board-games (I know, a very specific category). So when I saw 13 Demons on Netflix, about a boardgame with a dark past, I decided to watch it.

The movie, which should have really been an episode of an anthology show, is made in a very 80s style, and the low budget really shows through. The pacing of the movie is very slow, and it really tries to appear artistic, but only manages to get to mundane and incoherent. The characters are one-dimensional, and while there are some interesting takes on character growth, the bad acting and poor camera work do not do it any justice.

Furthermore, the entire movie is littered with unfired Chekov's guns.

Basically, don't bother.
