Trailer Review - Den of Thieves
Rob The Fed
This was something I watched over the passed weekend and was rather pleasantly surprised.
The main premise of the film is about these ex-military guys who decide to rob the Federal Reserve, basically the opening scenes is these guys robbing a bank. What I really liked about the movie was how the the viewer is pretty much kept in the dark as to exactly what is going on while the whole time you are under the impression that you know exactly what is going on. The entire story you seem to keep switching your allegiances as to who might be the good guys and the bad guys. Is it wrong to steal from a system that profits from the manipulation of the monetary currency? I suggest you do a little bit of research just on exactly how the Federal Reserve functions before you watch the film, it will definitely add nuance and dept to the story.
The film does tend to drag at certain places, and the character development was a bit on the weak side. I must say I did enjoy the grimy character of Gerard Butler, who wasn't the typical hero of the movie. I have forever been a big fan of a really great bank robbery and this wasn't bad, still nothing compares to The Inside Job, that was a great bank heist movie.
"A gritty L.A crime saga which follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff's Dept. and the state's most successful bank robbery crew as the outlaws plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of downtown Los Angeles." - STXfilms
"The Federal Reserve, it’s like Fort Knox. At any one time there’s anywhere between five hundred and eight hundred billion dollars in there. Every millimeter either covered by cameras, sensor and motion detectors. Stand across the street and stare at the building for two minutes they got security on your ass. The only bank that’s never been robbed, that’s why we’re going to rob it." - Merrimen
Den of Thieves gets a 6/10
I kind of enjoyed this, it was a great plot twist.

I would say great movie, knocked me off my feet.... Den of Thieves!!!
The essence of the film in the atmosphere in which the events unfold in this film. It is created by sustained to the end of the stress-measured dynamics that can be done not in every tape, as well as due to a large number of pumped, unshaven and brutal men with charisma of which the main Big Nick, hiding behind the ostentatious isolation and arrogance - pain, fatigue, dedication and humanity. Other characters and the plot are less elaborate, although also at the level, but here the meaning is not even in the robbery and the originality of the idea of its commission, but in how it happens, as it is filed. That is, the entourage is more important than the plot itself. If there were some mega story with something completely new and maybe somewhere more subtle characters, then this film would not be equal at all. Therefore, he is somewhat closer to the category of "cinema is not for everyone and not everyone will understand."
