Is Our History A Progressive Lie?

So I finally got to watch the the new Dinesh D'Souza movie after a very long wait.

It was a fascinating trip down the political and historical rabbit hole of the origin of the fascism, nationalism, socialism and how they all tied together from the first world war. The documentary makes a stark comparison between president Abraham Lincoln and current president Trump. Before you loose your mind over the idea that these two presidents might share some similarities, remember just because you are told someone is a fascist, doesn't just make it so. There needs to be actions which we call evidence to affirm that accusation, and when critics and the media just keep says Trump is a fascist without actual evidence, we call that propaganda.

"Government control over banks, investment, healthcare and education and the press, is called state run capitalism, and is also the clinical definition of fascism" - Dinesh D'Souza

Through stunning historical recreations and a searching examination of fascism and white supremacy, "Death of a Nation" cuts through progressive big lies to expose hidden history and explosive truths. The main premise of the film is looking at how Lincoln had to defend America from the democrats back then, and asks the question if Trump can do the same today.
A very thought provoking film which I really enjoyed, with great indepth study of what actually happened historically.

"Not since 1860 have the Democrats so fanatically refused to accept the result of a free election. That year, their target was Lincoln. They smeared him. They went to war to defeat him. In the end, they assassinated him. Now the target of the Democrats is President Trump and his supporters. The Left calls them racists, white supremacists and fascists. These charges are used to justify driving Trump from office and discrediting the right "by any means necessary." But which is the party of the slave plantation? Which is the party that invented white supremacy? Which is the party that praised fascist dictators and shaped their genocidal policies and was in turn praised by them? Moreover, which is the party of racism today? Is fascism now institutionally embodied on the right or on the left?" - Dinesh D'Souza

"Republicans passed the Fourteenth Amendment, securing for blacks equal rights under the law, and the Fifteenth Amendment, giving blacks the right to vote, over the Democrats' opposition."- Dinesh D'Souza

I'll have to watch this. HAVE to.

I have done extensive study not only of the Civil War but of the 30 years preceding it and the 30 following it. There is no question that you are correct, the Democrats were the party of Slavery and White Supremacy and the architects of Jim Crow, which I consider one of the three most serious blots on our history. With slavery and the genocide of the Native Americans. Seems the only thing the Dems and Reps could agree on in the years leading up to the Civil War and immediately after was "The only good Indian is a dead Indian".

One obvious difference between Lincoln and Trump. Lincoln was scrupulously honest in his business dealings, often to the point of ridiculous. Trump is not.
