My impressions on It movie

You will love this movie if you don't expect to be blown away. It's hard to transfer Stephen Kings horror fantasies into movie. Things you imagine while reading his novels are incomparably scarier than anything you can see on movie screen. That’s way you should expect nothing, and you will get everything.

I remember the scary clown from my childhood from watching It the mini-series. I never could understand after that how could clowns be funny to the people. They were monsters to me. And now, the most scary clown is back, 27 years later, just like in the story.

One thing I liked the most about It is the atmosphere, it’s like watching Stand by me or Goonies, but on momments you forget that you are watching horror movie. In main focus is the Loser’s club, group of kids spending their summer vacations together, each one of them facing and confronting their own problems and fears. The evil clown, or demonic entity, isn’t their only concern. They are being bullied by group of local teens, having trouble with their parents, from abusive to overprotective parents, facing losing a brother… Each member of group is closely characterised and through them we can see picture of social issues in what seems idyllically and picturesque little American town.

The It uses all their fears against them, but despite that, they manage to stand together and fight back.
The clown itself is scary as hell in moments, and then next time seems like parody, but the fact that he range from scary to funny doesn’t diminish the horror effect of his character.

Movie scenes are infused with genuine laughter and comedy, but also the worst personal trauma and horror, and shows how thin is the line between them. Almost as is thin line between reality and fantasy.
So if you love horror movies, or read Stephen Kings books, you definitely have to watch this movie, and you will love It to.
