Leave No Trace (2018) by Debra Granik (REVIEW)
In summary, the father and daughter, due to certain circumstances, decide to live as homeless people in a park (forest), who despite the offered help refuse to integrate into the normal world.
Without revealing a lot from this non-complex movie story, I would say that this period of the time is suitable for watching this movie, because it has a melancholy atmosphere. This movie got my attention from the start by describing one unbreakable father-daughter connection, on the one hand unselfish, but on the other, more selfish, at least I experienced it at certain moments.
Although I deeply understood the reason for their decisions, at certain moments the movie caused great frustration to me which eventually melted unhappily. I liked the fact that directors in this melancholic story managed to make a small dose of tension that keeps you in the limelight for the outcome of the whole situation.
From this movie I’ve learned that for certain people, the survival in their specially created free environment meets and rejoices more than the “slave” in the imposed system of life of this world.
It is not a movie that would leave you with your mouth wide open, but it is something different from the most famous Hollywood inspired stories. I also read that it was sorted out according to a book that I did not read, so I cannot make a proper parallel to that, but still, I liked the movie.
