Cinema Paradiso (1988) by Giuseppe Tornatore (REVIEW)

in #movie5 years ago

Masterpiece. Beautiful movie. A story of friendship and love. In the first half of the film, the action takes place in Italy sometime after the Second World War. We have the little Salvatore (Toto), whose father has not yet returned from the war and lives with his mother and little sister.

Toto makes friends with Alfredo, who works as a projector in the local cinema and spend his time most often here at the searchlight. Toto is mischievous, naughty, brings him in trouble Alfredo, but despite all their friendship is purest, most sincere and unbreakable.

Movies are very real, in some way simple and easy to reach the viewer. There are many sad moments. Alfredo is an interesting character.

He acts on a stupid man who has not completed a school but has some strong, own understandings (despite the frequent quotes he will use from other films) and philosophies of life that most people would find strange to them. I will tell him a very interesting love story of Toto with a senseless end, which Toto will use in some way in his life.
