Truth or Dare Short Movie Review

Truth or Dare is a supernatural horror movie based on the same party game. It is quite violent, with the usual variety of unusual murders of horror movies; they are horrifying (fractures in the neck, stabbings, shots) someone is caught on fire, but their blood is restricted enough to maintain a friendly rating for the teenagers.

College-aged characters (played by Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars' and Tyler Posey of Teen Wolf's) drink a lot, without consequences (a character seems to be a budding alcoholic), and there are some swear words, like "f--k," "s--t," "a--hole," and more.

The characters connect frequently, though there are no nudes beyond a woman's bare back during a shortened sex scene. They also remind young girls raped by a figure of adult authority, as well as another inappropriate relationship.

The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow, an American director, producer and screenwriter focused on films aimed at a young and adolescent audience. After directing several short films he wrote and directed "Cry Wolf" (2005), a teenage slasher that achieved some success the year of its premiere. Three years later he directed "Never Back Down "(2008), a youth drama focused on martial arts that starred Sean Faris and Djimon Hounsou. The film was very successful and 2 sequels were made. His next work was "Kick-Ass 2" (2012), the sequel to the black comedy of superheroes "Kick-Ass" (2010) that is based on the famous comic created by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. The film was starred by Chloë Grace Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jim Carrey. After this project he directed True Memoirs of an International "Assassin" (2016), an action comedy starring Kevin James.
