Also known as Untouchable

This was of those films that pleasantly surprised. I don't remember why I decided to watch this film, maybe because I do like watch "foreign movies", even if I do sometimes have to read the subtitles. Also don't remember if this movie was subtitled or dubbed into English, either way it is still an enjoyable film.

In this film we have a young black man (Driss) from the projects who only wants to get his paperwork signed so he can show he is "looking" for work and hence receive his unemployment benefit.

To that end Driss ends up at the house of Philippe who is well off financially and also a quadriplegic. Philippe is interviewing applicants for the position of care giver. Driss doesn't want to be there any longer than he has too and since he is obviously not qualified cuts to the front of the line and asks Philippe to sign.

Driss' attitude is something of a breath of fresh air, and Philippe seeing some potential pushes Driss by offering him a one month trial period in order to gain some real experience.

Driss moves in and livens up the lives of everyone in the mansion, partly from his don't take shit from anyone attitude, and partly from you have all these nice things, lets use them.

As the two of them spend time together they learn that in some ways their outlook on life isn't that different, and by the end of the film Driss has helped Philippe far more than we would have thought possible at the beginning when they first met.

The story of the two men is handled very well and there are a few comic moments to boot, all in all it is a feel good movie, with a nice story line. So if you get the chance and are interested in foreign films then this could be for you.
