Fortress

A prison to escape from

This movie is about population control and the consequences if you break the one child limit imposed by the government even if your first child has died. The main characters in this movie are John (Christopher Lambert) and his wife Karen (Loryn Locklin). They are sent to a maximum security prison because they are expecting a second child and get discovered while trying to cross into a "safe" zone.



John was sentenced to 31 years in prison while is wife has a slightly better time, as the prison warden takes a liking to her. Karen is given the choice of keeping her child if she moves in with the prison guard.

Some of the control measure employed in this "Fortress" of a prison are things like physical torture of course along with mind control via hallucinatory visions that bombard the senses if you end up in the "pod".

Karen of course helps her husband where she can, and the story follows the plan for escape along with the eventual escape carried out by John and some of his fellow cell mates.

The movie was OK, nothing super special. The plot doesn't really hold any surprises and I was glad I didn't see it the cinema, in short an average action film.
