Skellig Michael mysterious hideout of the Last Jedi
Luke's island hideaway is actually Skellig Michael, a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. Currently uninhabited, it is a UNESCO world heritage site. The buildings shown in the film are the remains of a Gaelic Christian monastery founded in about the 6th century.
The actual wildlife is a least as beautiful as the computer generated Porgs. Here a couple of Atlantic Puffins.

I went to see The Last Jedi yesterday. It was better than I expected.
