Hey Steemians! Have you watched "The Greatest Showman"or "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"? I have watched them both and I find "The Greatest Showman" much more enjoyable. I am not a movie critique, and this is not meant to be a review. I am just ranting a little on the 2 movies that I have watched in December.

Below are my thoughts on the 2 movies and I promise to be spoiler-free :)

My thoughts on "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"

I have watched all Star Wars movies. I am not exactly a fan, but I truly like the franchise. I think we were all very hyped up with "The Last Jedi" and there were plenty of theories in the internet on the plot for this movie. It seems like all theories were proven wrong and I ended up having more questions than answers after watching it. The pace was a little too slow and the plot was too draggy. I think there were many unnecessary scenes that can be reduced. Also, there no epic lightsabers fight scenes this time round!! How can a Star Wars movie be without epic lightsabers fight scene?!? Ok, enough of my rants, the movie does have some good cinematography and excellent choice of colors during some of the scenes. In summary, I think you can give this a miss if you are not into Star Wars.

My thoughts on "The Greatest Showman"

"The Greatest Showman" was the direct opposite of "The Last Jedi". I didn't even hear about this movie before I watched it. If there were some hype, it sure did not reach me. I went to watch this as it was suggested by my girlfriend. And to me, it was just an usual movie date. In the end, I totally enjoyed it. The plot was somewhat predictable but there wasn't a single dull moment. Hugh Jackman did a fantastic job and he didn't remind me of Wolverine at all :). Overall, I really enjoyed the songs, music and characters; I attached my favorite song ("Never Enough") below. It was quite mind-blowing when you listen to it in the cinema:

Ok, so much for my rant. I recommend you to watch "The Greatest Showman" if you have not. And if you have already watched them both, which movie do you enjoy more? Comment below and let me know why.

Thanks!

thx for the double-critique. Star Wars must have fallen deep when it loses against a girl movie.

Here are some tips I give to Steemit newbies when I see them:

  • never just copy a text or publish a photo/video without explanation. Always add some text and never forget to add an image to a text.
  • Always use all 5 tags for more visibility.
  • here is an interesting site where you can look up the stats of your account and others.
  • this is another stats site where you can see your reputation and what to do to climb up the ladder. (commenting other posts is very important).
  • there is even a help site for Steemit where you can find explanations for the site's functionalities
  • if you want somebody to read your article or follow your conversation, mention their username (don't forget the @).
  • commenting other posts is very important because you get "curation rewards" which means Steem Dollar from the pot for the article as a reward for the interaction.
  • learn the Markdown styles to format your posts (you can find how it works in a link on the right side below the text box)
  • A lot of votes on steemit come from bots that you (or others) can pay for a vote. Depending on the bot, you end up with more $$ than you had before.
  • All bots work pretty much the same way: You go to your wallet and click on the little arrow next to the Steem Dollar amount. Then click on transfer, fill in the name and the amount and add as memo the URL to the article for which you want an upvote. Very simple.
  • Here is a site where you can compare the performance of difference upvote bots.
  • There are also resteem bots, but I don't find them too useful and don't know which one is good.
  • Be careful with your password and watch out for scamming attempts. Several big accounts got stolen and now they try to lure others into giving away their password by posting comments with links to fishing sites.
  • you have several different passwords. Whenever you have to use a password and it is not stated differently, use the active key and as little as possible your owner key! The latter is the big key to your account and if that is gone, you account is gone.

I will follow you now. (<- always add that to a comment when you intend to follow the person who wrote the article. This way, you increase the likelihood that they follow you as well.)

Hi @doodlebear, thanks for your comment and guidance. I am following you too. Regarding your status, "I'm still torn apart between writing what the steemit whales might like and what I like.", I suggest that you write what you like! Cos, I think you will lose motivation one day if you just keep writing things that are not your interests. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your input. You're right and I actually shifted my focus on things that interest me a while ago. The "mission statement" is still from the time when my reputation was <30... I'll think about a new one..

Haven't seen either, should go to cinema soon:)

Yes you should! Be sure to catch "The Greatest Showman"!
