Split
In February of 2017 is released the thriller Split, directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan. It tells the story of Kevin (James McAvoy), a young man suffering from dissociative identity disorder or multiple personality. It is under the supervision of psychiatrist Karen Fletcher, who has documented the 23 personalities who live in it.
"Denis" one of these personalities, kidnaps three young people and holds them captive in the basement of a zoo under the care of "Patricia" and "Hedwig" a woman and a child who surprisingly for the teenagers are the same person, confused and scared , with the passage of the days they understand the upset of their kidnapper. These three personalities call themselves "the orda", who capture the young women with the purpose of preparing a kind of ritual or sacrifice where they intend to release a new identity that they call "The Beast".
The real Kevin has been hidden for years between the multiple personalities that converge, at the mercy of whoever "comes to the light" term used to refer to the control of his body, "The Beast" would be the number 24 person who is formed in him the darkest, when Kevin develops this identity this is based on the animals of the zoo, a lion that can eat and devour living humans, a reptile that can climb the walls and a panther that makes him run very fast on the tracks of the train.
Kevin manifests unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being, for example "Barry" one of the personalities is insulin-dependent diabetic, it is incredible how my body works differently for each identity.
Hidden by Dr. Fletcher "The Beast" comes to light becoming a supernatural serial killer, which bullets can not traverse, attains superhuman strength and unsurpassed speed. .
The story is very well worked, the interpretation of the actor is amazing taking into account that there are 25 characters for the same film, has been a controversial production because some patients suffering from this disorder have been offended by the unorthodox way as the director and writer addressed this delicate subject.
