A Good Way to Bond with Your Kids; Watching Animated Movies Together!
It has been a hobby of mine long before I gave birth to my Son is to watch animated movies. 'Cause I see nothing wrong watching it despite of your age. Besides, it was really fun watching movies like that. It also have moral lessons. Most of all, I believe in what our college professor's once told us during our class that "everyone has a child inside".
I grew up watching movies in our home together with my siblings but I am not quite sure if they have the same interest seeing animated movies as much as I do.
When my Son was 3-4 years old, he started to show interest in watching Animated movies also. And instead of telling him bedtime stories, he loves to just watch till he fell asleep. It feels great to find ways to have a bonding with @bravekid. A kind of pastime where both of us are enjoying. Let me share you some of the movies that we strongly recommend for you and your kid to watch.
1. Up
It was the movie that my Son loves to watch before he goes to bed until he fell asleep. Well, it is my favorite too. Because he keep watching it over and over again, the kid memorize most of the line of the characters there and sometimes he will say it before the character recite their line. It was full of fun and exciting to watch this. It is one of the best adventure animated movie we had ever seen. The movie was about the elderly widowed named Mr. Fredricksen who tried to fulfill his promise to deceased wife to travel and visit the Paradise Falls. His journey begins when he tied lots of balloons to his house and it flied up in the sky. Little did he know, the Kid named Rusell who is a scout that's aiming to have a badge for assisting the elderly, was accidentally there when he aired and flied his house. Mr. Fredricksen tried to think of how to bring Russell down in the city but he can't think of any safest way to do it. So he just let the kid join him in his journey. This movie shows that age is not an excuse to pursue your dreams. And also it shows how to let go of the things that was important and focus to what is more important to you now and to start creating new adventures and memories.
2. Toy Story 1, 2 and 3
We never missed to watch the first up to the last part of Toy Story. This movie is about friendship and how toys loved their owners and vice versa. Those toys are alive but will act like they are not when there's a human around. Andy, is the human who had lots of toys and treating them as his family. His favorite toy and the one he considered as his best friend was the cowboy named Woody. Andy always plays with Woody until he got a new toy named Buzz. Woody was jealous of Buzz. The two were rival at first but at the end, they became the best bud. Toy Story shows and teaches children how to value toys. On the last part, Andy grew up and he doesn't play with his toys anymore. He decided to give them to a kid whom he believes will take good care of his beloved toys. Toys are meant to be played by kids, and those toys gets happy whenever they are being played and they can see how happy kids are while playing with them. They feel loved. The movie shows how to take care of your toys, to love them and to treat them special. Most of all, this movie teaches my son to keep his own toys by himself whenever he finished playing because he was afraid that it would come to life if he doesn't properly take care of it. He understands the message of the movie and he started to appreciate his toys even more.
3. Big Hero 6
Whenever you say Big Hero 6 animated movie, Baymax will be the first thing you will remember. My Son was influenced by his Aunt @tiffanyanne who is very fond with Baymax. One day my Son asked me to watch this with him and I was so amaze with its story. This is about technology, revenge and forgiveness. Baymax was a robot that Tadashi created. When he died from the accident, his younger brother found Baymax. This robot can tell if a person is feeling well or not, a healthcare robot. It was supposed to be created to help people. When Hiro, the younger brother of Tadashi, found out that his brother didn't die because of an accident, he upgraded Baymax and created a fighting gear and used him to seek for revenge due to his anger. Eventually, Hiro came back to his senses with the help of his friends and became heroes. It was an amazing movie that kids would love to watch.
4. Trolls
This one is a colorful and musical animated movie that is very enjoying to watch! Trolls are the happiest creature who loves to sing and dance. While the Bergensare the creatures who are very cruel and believes that by eating Trolls, they will become happy. The Trolls were imprisoned by the Bergens but they found a way to escape. Bergens never stopped to hunt where the Trolls are hiding. When the Trolls threw a party, the Bergens' cook discovered them and crashed into the party and captured some of trolls. Poppy is the most cheerful and optimistic Trolls of all. While Branch was the opposite of Poppy. When the Bergen destroyed their party, some of Poppy's friends were captured and he asked for Branch help to her save them. At first Branch didn't agree but he later on followed Poppy and joined her in saving their friends. One of the Troll betrayed their race and all trolls were captured and was about to get eaten by the Bergens. Poppy, the optimistic and the cheerful troll, looses her hope. She lost her color but Branch helped her regain her confidence. One of the Bergen who became friend with Poppy and the other trolls helped them escape. But they returned to help that Bergen because she will be punished by the other Bergens who expected that they can finally eat their happiness. The trolls made the Bergens realize the true meaning of happiness, and thru the positive attitudes and cheerfulness of the Trolls, they had successfully changed the Bergens beliefs about happiness. This movie teaches us that whenever you loose hope, never give up because something or someone will help you and you can surpass all the challenges that will come your way. You have to take courage that you can change the world. It was fun to watch because it is a musical, it is very lively and your kid will surely enjoy it just like my Son.
5. Coco
This animated movie was all about family. Because of its amazing and unique story, it won lots of award. What's cool about this movie was that it shows the life after death in the most amazing way. Coco is the name of the great grandmother of the boy named Miguel. Coco's father, Hector, was a musician and he left her and her mother to chase after his career in music industry. One day, he got homesick and he wanted to go home and just be with his family but he got betrayed and killed by his friend named Ernesto de la Cruz. Coco's mother, Imelda doesn't know about what happened to his husband. Hector never returns and Imelda decided to banned music from his family. Miguel, who is then a great grandson of the now old Coco, idolized the popular musician of all time Ernesto de la Cruz but his family doesn't want to support him when it comes to music.

He accidentally hit the Ofrenda where the picture of the deceased family members are placed and the frame got broke. He saw the picture of her Mama Imelda with her Mama Coco's baby picture and her father. He saw the guitar that the man without a head in the picture (because mama Imelda tear his husband's head in the photo) was holding and that was the same guitar of his deceased musician idol Ernesto de la Cruz. After assuming that Ernesto was his great great grandfather, Miguel rushed to the plaza where a music contest for the celebration of the Day of the Dead (Souls Day) was being held but he can't participate because he doesn't have guitar. Due to his strong desire to follow the footsteps of his great great grandfather in music, he stole his Papa Ernesto's guitar that was kept in his resting place in the center of the cemetery. He strummed that guitar and he was transported into the afterlife world where he can't be seen by the living. He can be seen only by dead and skeletal.
Feeling lost in the crowded cemetery, Miguel bumped with his dead family members and smelled something was going on. They accompanied Miguel to the land of the dead headquarters and met with their ancestor Mama Imelda who wasn't allowed to pass in the world of the living to celebrate the Souls Day with her family. From then they learned that the reason why Mama Imelda cannot cross the line because Miguel took the photo from the Ofrenda. Miguel can't be in the land of the dead. If he stay there before the sunrise, he will become a dead too. In order for Miguel to return in the world of the living, he needs the blessing of any of his family member. Mama Imelda gave her blessing to Miguel so that he can return but with a condition that he will never involved if any kind of music. But Miguel refused and ran away and started looking for his great grandfather to ask for his blessing. Along the way, he met Hector.
Hector can't crossed the line and visit his family because no one in his family put his picture on the Ofrenda. He helped Miguel to get to Ernesto who was still popular in the Land of the dead with a condition that if he returns to his world, he will put his photo in the Ofrenda. Because if that won't happen, Hector will vanished from the Land of the dead because he was already forgotten by his family. When they finally met with Ernesto, they learned the truth about what really happened to Hector.
Hector found out that he was killed buy his friend Ernesto when he wanted to go back to his family and his friend stole all of his songs. Later on, Miguel found out that his true great great grandfather was Hector and he wrote the song entitled "Coco" for his daughter Coco, Miguel's great grandmother. Miguel told everything to his Mama Imelda and asked to forgive his Papa Hector. Still angry but enlightened, Mama Imelda work with Miguel and Hector together with their relatives to get the photo of Hector to Ernesto. Hector is starting to get weak because Coco is forgetting him. In the middle of the confrontations Hector's photo flied away and looses their hope to put the photo in the Ofrenda. Miguel was blessed to go back to his true world leaving Hector almost vanishing because his time was almost up.
When Miguel came back to his world, he rushed to his home and find Mama Coco. She begs Mama Coco to remember her Papa Hector but Mama Coco's memory was also fading. Miguel was crying and think of something and ended up singing the song entitled Coco that her Papa Hector composed for her. All of his family member was shocked when Mama Coco sing with Miguel and remember his Papa Hector. Mama Coco opened her drawer and show the torn piece of his Papa Hector's Picture. From then Papa Hector can now visit the living world every Souls Day together with Mama Imelda and now with their daughter Coco. This is the most amazing and touching animated movie on the top of my list. After watching this movie, I remember all my deceased family, most specially my great great grandmother. They will never be forgotten in our hearts because we love them endlessly.
