Following impressive viewing figures, Netflix have today confirmed that a sequel to David Ayer’s Bright, starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, is to happen with the trio expected to all return in their respective roles.

Despite many negative reviews and even director Ayer addressing such negativity towards his film, Netflix are clearly impressed by the fact that Bright became the highest viewed Netflix film ever on the service in its first week and is one of the biggest originals they have ever released – including sequels and additional seasons.

Adding to the film’s impressive stint since its release on 22nd December, Bright is the number one movie on Netflix in every country that the streaming service is available, meaning over 190 countries it has dominated in, with international success gulfing domestic.
