Movie Review: God's Not Dead 2
I Just watched, God's Not Dead 2. It's a feel good movie that Christians will likely love.

Unfortunately, it sets some unreasonable expectations for unbelievers that see this film. For example, watching this film might leave one believing that if they believe in Christ they won't die of cancer, instead they will be healed.
There is a character that had her cancer go into remission when she came to faith in the last movie, and at the beginning of this movie it begins with the cancer fully gone from her body. NEWSFLASH... Christians suffer and die from cancer as much as other demographics in their community.
What happens when unbelievers with cancer come to Christ for healing, and it doesn't happen?
There is a character put on trial for her faith, after a prayer she defeats her persecutors. NEWSFLASH don't expect to get a fair trial from a godless justice system. Even Jesus was put to death as an innocent man.
What do we say to Christians that have been, are, and will be unjustly persecuted through the courts?
On a side note, I remember a new Christian whose church held that smoking was a sin, and that God would take his craving away if he prayed for it. He was very excited that God was going to do this. And for several weeks he had no craving, but eventually they returned. His faith wavered and he left the faith shortly thereafter.
So this mindset can set up new christians for a similar tragedy.
The Bible doesn't promise our "best life now", instead we are promised persecution.
On a good note I liked the witness that were called, Lee Strobel and J. Warner Wallace. I have both of these mens books and I highly recommend them, Case for Christ and Cold Case Christianity respectively. Unfortunately, they only prove the historicity of Jesus in the movie, and its never pressed to prove the existence of God. Instead its the fictional victory in court that is used to base the claim that "God is not dead".
Finally, I enjoyed this movie, I just think it might create a stumbling block for new believers that is unnecessary.
