Wow, I feel a touch like an idiot now! I had no idea that it was that snow-covered in Scotland... now that I think of it, it really makes sense... but it just isn't the picture of Scotland that I have in my mind!
You're not an idiot - it's just the impressions we get of different countries, and it's only certain parts of Scotland that get covered in snow, usually for a few months each winter. It's very difficult for the people who run ski resorts, because the snow can disappear as soon as it arrives. The weather here is so unpredictable.
