I don't think there's any cure for vertigo, I used to be fearless when I was a kid.. , climbed up the biggest trees and never fell once. I don't know what happened.
You probably just built up some good sense!
When I was a kid, I was always rushing to climb things and then I'd panic and say "Help! I can't get down!" I don't seem to have quite shaken that habit...
Seriously though, learning to climb and doing bouldering has really built up my confidence on the rocks. Vertigo is not a bad thing to have because it stops you doing daft things, but learning to climb properly and building up the right leg muscles makes you more secure.
