Mountain Monday 🗻 Number 31
Mount Spurr volcano in Alaska
11,070' ft elev. 50 miles away.
The body of water is the Cook inlet.
Oil rigs in the distance and a
helicopter headed out to a platform.
Slight Fata Morgana or mirage
inversion layer the day
of these photos.
A drilling rig near the bluff at
the Nikiski docks north of Kenai.
To the left looking west
is a nice section of beach
to walk along.
Looking north, zoomed in is
Mount Susitna, the sleeping lady.
50 miles away at 4396' ft elev.
The view on a clear day up
the inlet you might be lucky
to see the mighty one!
There is another beach area
to the right out of view that goes
a long ways. Lots of rocks to
be found. Folks drive on most
the beaches here.
Zoomed in view of the mighty
Mount Denali, elevation 20,310' ft.
Denali is on the right and is 150 miles
away from where I'm standing.
On the left is Mount Foraker
at 17,400' ft elev.
About 130 miles from me.
Zoom zoom on the
helicopter, it's the dark bug
thing near the skyline.
Double clicking the
photos enlarges them
to see better.
