For #MountainMonday
Believe it or not, I do on a rare occasion leave my Tahoe mountain and go other places for photography adventures. This photo is from one of those occasions when I went to Death Valley, California with a photographer friend in March, 2017. Although this is not a super unique photo as it was shot from a popular vista point in the late morning, I still like it a lot and I thought it would make a nice entry for @keithboone's #mountainmonday challenge. The photo is of Gower Gulch and the surrounding mountains in Death Valley.
Photographed with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens set at 28mm. The ISO was 50, nice and low so I can make big prints with virtually no digital noise. The aperture was f16, fairly small so I got a good depth of field with the mountains in the foreground and background sharp in focus. This all let to a shutter speed of 1/10 second, the camera was on a tripod.

Death Valley is a pretty popular spot to visit. Raise your hand in the comments if you have ever been there! ✋
Thank you for looking!

✋ Been there! :-)
Happy Mountain Monday 🌄
Wonderful photograph @scottshots!
Really nice colors in the desert mountains.
Thank you @shasta! Cool! It's a great place to visit. I'm sure I'll be ready to go back to the desert come mid-winter...
Great photo, my friend and Death Valley has always been mysteriously beautiful! Thank you @scottshots
Mysterious indeed, there is some wild looking scenery in the valley. Thank you @serkagan!
Gower Gulch looks like a pretty good place to die in Death Valley. I have added it to my death wish list, thanks.
Also don't you mean #mountaingoatmonday??
:)
I thought the goat already died though...
I suppose during mid-summer it would be pretty easy to die there. Just don't bring water. Although, it's a pretty popular spot for tourists so somebody would probably go and save you. Might not be the best spot in Death Valley for that.
Did I kill off the goat and forget about it? I don't think I did, but who knows. Thanks for the Death Valley tip, I'll start looking into other options.
I could very well be wrong. There's a lot of goats out there...
No problem! :)
Great shot, Scott! That landscape is truly amazing! How often does it rain there? It looks so dry and yet it seems there is sometimes a raging river?
Thanks for entering #mountainmonday! resteemed :)
Thank you @keithboone! To be honest, I have no idea how often it gets rain there but yes, it does look like there has been some very interesting erosion due to rain.
Happy to enter, thank you for the resteem!
@scottshots, when I traveled once by bus from LA or San Diego to Las Vegas, at some time during the journey the bus driver told us that the Death Valley is on our left side. Also he said that until the late 60s people had driven their cars through this teirritory only during the night or early in the morning, because vechicles did't have air conditioning at that time.
p.s. a nice shot!

Very cool @cryptospa! It's worth going into the big valley and checking it out next time...
Haha! Yeah, that crazy desert heat is tough on humans and on cars. We were there at a fairly moderate time of year and it was still hot.
Thank you!
