I've been thinking about Shuksan for a long time.
36 hours from now I'll be driving (probably through rain and mist) towards a place I have thought about and held firmly in the mind's eye for years.
We'll hike a bit through Pacific Northwest rain-forest, then start up the talus and scree slope, eventually popping over the ridge and descending a short-way in the general direction of Lake Ann. In the 24 hours after that I will be climbing legendary places along the route: The Fisher Chimneys, Winnie's Slide (a 55 degree pitch ice-field), Hell's Highway, and the summit pyramid.
I'm sure I'll probably post more before I leave for the mountain. I've got Shuksan on my mind.
