Mountain biking California (Bay Area)
I guess that I am lucky to have Monday's off as I can go mtb'ing with almost no one on the trails. This is good because there is no one sitting in the middle of the trail checking their phone or taking a photo, or whatever else.
This is a shot of Alpine Pond in Palo Alto, CA. There is a nature center here with plenty of hiking trails. There is also a water faucet which is a must stop for cyclists in this area.
The ride was 28 miles and 4,100 feet of climbing. 28 miles is quite a bit on a 26" mountain bike compared to riding the road.

I past quite a few parks during my ride and also a variety of environments. Here is a creek that still has some water running. Many creeks in the mountains dry up during the summer months.
Another creek a few miles away, this one has a lot of pretty green ferns. It's nice and cool here too with a lot of shade. It was about 85*f this afternoon.
A shot of golden grassy field with a mountain backdrop. The other side of those mountains is the Pacific ocean.
This is the Boral Hill overlook. You can see the South end of the bay here as well as Palo Also looking up the peninsula.
Happy riding!
Hi, yes the ride was really nice with great views. Glad you enjoyed the post. I'm getting rest for sure, 4000 feet of climbing on a bike is quite a bit. (For an older person)
Nice views and good landscape. Thanks for sharing.
