Here's my Volvo since the previous post was about their hidden menu!

in #motors7 years ago (edited)

My previous post was about Volvos hidden DTC menu so I figured I'd show the V70 that im currently using.
It's a 2003 (04's model) 2.5T V70 and below are some of it's specs.

  • Manual
  • 250,000 km
  • Beige leather interior
  • 11 speakers throughout the car
  • Rain sensor
  • Virtual CD-Changer which allows AUX,USB and MMC (3rd party product)
  • Cruise control
  • Bi-Xenon
  • Rear wing

In my opinion you get alot of car for your money and even though it has 14 years on its neck it still looks modern.
And seeing as im living in Sweden it's super easy to get spare parts for it.

The typical issues that I have encountered on my volvos (have had a -01 T5 v70 as well) are the following:

  • Alarm siren not working, seems to work around 7 years before it needs to be switched out.
  • The struts for the front suspension
  • Leaking steering gear

And of course the steering, any sharp U-turn is a big no no when driving a V70 (this aint really an issue but had to mention it).

I'd say for 250k those problems are pretty negligible, that car is a tank! Hoping my little Peugeot can keep up at 110k haha

It sure is, my previous -01 T5 was up on 330k when i sold it 2+ years ago so they last forever! :)

Those cars really are tanks haha. How's your Peugeot holding up, Happy with it so far?

It's running great, the electronic pedal stopped working on the highway, French electronic systems are terrible haha. On the mechanical side it's doing great though, a great choice for my first car!

Which model is it? :)

Sorry, I just saw the reply! It'a 208 1.4 Hdi with a whooping 68hp!

Ah ok, I've only driven the 206 and they have to much plastic for my taste :P
But the 208 seems to be a decent city car, pretty good fuel efficiency right?

Yeah quite a bit of plastic and faux leather in the 208 as well haha. The fuel efficiency is very good, 50l of diesel easily gets me through 2 weeks of daily use and I get at least 950 km when on the highway.
