Bikes at Thoresby Hall

A lot of bikes attend the Notts classic car and bike show.

When this Yamaha RD350LC was introduced to replace the RD400E in 1980, it was the ultimate Boy-racer bike. I had been to the Isle of Mann TT races on my RD400 and watched them win everything in their class. I ordered one on the way home. Just like the one above. The red one in the background was similar to the one @michelle.gent got for her first bike, after she passed her test.

This very nice 1926 British built Dunelt 500cc 2stroke, which was fully restored by the current owner. It cost £89.10 with a sidecar when new.

Nice sidecar fitted to this Sunbeam.

A proper Rocker's bike. A Triton made from a Triumph engine and Norton frame.

The H2 Mach IV 750 triple was a class winner in 1973. Matched against all other road-going 750s, it beat the lot.

Fastest acceleration, shortest stopping distance and best around a street circuit. Not bad for a bike with a bad reputation for high speed wobbles and a frame that flexed when stressed.

The Honda CB750. A well-liked bike due to its reliability, if not it's performance.

CIMG3179.JPG
Suzuki XS200. An engine size quite popular in the late 70s. This is from 1980.

I owned a Yamaha RD200.

Norton 350.

BSA VICTOR 250 trial. 1971.

A Triumph Bonneville 750. 1980. Made from 1975 to 1982 in this variant.

Like always upvote you post. A lot of beauty works of art. Everyone is kind of beautiful.

They look good but you wouldn't catch me on one haha

You either like bikes or not.

Yep, very nice. I had a '72 Triumph Bonnie. I miss it.

Did it have a right hand gear change? All British export bikes after 1975 changed to left hand gear change due to a new law passed in the USA.

Yes, it had right side gear change which I liked much better. Left clutch, right shift - right throttle, left foot brake was a good combo in my opinion.

I would love to have one like these @s0u1, and have a long road trip with some amazing friends! That would be so beautiful!

We used to do long road trips across Europe but I need a new back now after a few hundred miles.

nice bikes

Got to agree.
