Great photos and I really love the background info. Aren't both the Michigan way and the Colorado way similar landscape or is Michigan more forested? I'd have a hard decision. Check the weather forecast and go for the one that looks less like icy roads?
This one is going to be a photo trip :) I've spent a fair amount of time in both places. Colorado has some of the most spectacular roads on earth. The UP is just so damn beautiful and diverse. From tundra to great big coniferous trees, and every thing in between. And you can order Perch in the restaurants. I think it's Michigan first :)
