DR370

Immaculate vintage DR370. Customer bought this bike and wanted to know if I could make it street legal. From factory it came with headlight and tail light on a 6 volt system with no battery or regulator...

But I was up to the challenge so off I went.

I had to build a 12 volt charging system, mounts for battery and all related components, a wiring harness to piggy back existing harness and operate horn, signals, brake light, headlight hi lo beam.

He also wanted the bike restored for safety components. New clutch, tires, bearings, swing arm bearings, carb overhauled, etc...

Had to wire in an ignition switch too seeing as how it didn't have one prior.

This was a huge undertaking that I didn't realize when I started but I got him going and he was super excited for the final product.

I would not take on another project of this size, it was hugely time consuming and not profitable as I couldn't possibly charge for all the hours it took to complete, but it was great advertising.

Total hooligan ride.

Of course! ;)

This is awesome man. Early 80s, Late 70s? Those things will run forever if they are taken care of. There is nothing more fun than legally rippin down the streets on a dirt bike. Nice job, electrical is everyones least favorite to work on. Im sure he will be a returning customer.

79 I believe it was.

I'm guessing its a 1977-78...something like that?

79 I think if remember correctly.
