The Black Torpedo - My Honda Hornet CB600f

in #motorcycle6 years ago

Braaaaap all steemers!

I would like to share a couple of pictures of my bike and go through the story of modifications made.
Let's start, the bike is 2007 and I bought it just with 7000km it was like brand new fully stock with one or two minor scratches. Oh, the happiness!

Fresh when I bought it-

It had some silly stickers and seriously lacked in personality. I have never been happier spending my money, than on my bike especially parts that make it sound better (read louder) and make it safer.

First I changed the air filter (i got the K&N because of the free stickers :)

I think I sorted was a white rim sticker (amazing for safety if you have a dark bike or ride in shitty weather conditions)

Now the Torpedo was much better looking but I have just started...

Next thing on the line was painting the tail of the bike black. I have tried to wrap it in 3M foil but unsuccessfully - the shape is just too complicated to pull out. This is the probably the ugliest tail I have ever seen on a 600 naked. Black looks ugly but much better.

To make it go faster I've installed the different gear ratios to completely use the bikes performance. Front sprocket was reduced by 1 tooth while on rear added one tooth with of course new chain from D.I.D.

The exhaust was next on the list. I wanted a brand new Termignoni but I knew that is only possible in my dreams. By the game of chance, I got a hold of Remus exhaust from a Z750 - its going to do its job well after a few modifications!

Tutto perfecto!
Now we're mad in love, and only need a few rear tyres per year :)

Thanks Bro! Goes like hell :)

Nice ride dude! Massive respect for style!

Cool , like the transformation - though minor very clean ! How is it performing after the sprocket change !

Performance is much better in acceleration you can definitely feel it much more than you would expect and elasticity of the engine is improved (he pulled nicely before as well from low rpm). My best time on 402 meters was 11.3 sec. Top speed is the same but on higher rpm - 240 vmax..

Ahh... cool , I havent done any mods yet on my bike. Hopefully this year !

Have fun doing it!
