750 miles on a 150cc scooter!
Hi steemers motorcyclists! I hope you're all riding and having fun around this incredible world!
As I promissed in my last post, I'm going to share here the last trip I did back in March with the Little Beast, my Honda PCX 150cc. That's right! It is a 150cc motorcycle (scooter) and I used it for my daily commute plus to travel whenever I have time for it.
The roundtrip was about 750 miles total. I live in Brazil and traveled alone from São Paulo to Londrina, a countryside city to spend the weekend there.
When I sold my Harley in 2014 I kept the luggage and some other accessories in the hope to buy another bike soon, so I create a solutions to use what I have. To fix the luggage in place I built a stand with wooden laths and bolted in the back rack. This way was easy to attach the luggage with the built-in strips. I added some rubber stripes just in case.
It was really sunny and hot. Since the PCX is slow, I constantly used to travel behind the big trucks to cut the wind and get more speed.
The road was almost a straight line crossing big plantations, mostly of sugar cane. I prefer roads with more curves but it was good to travel contemplating the horizon for a few hours.
It took me 8 hours to go and 6,5 hours to come back. Because of the heat I constantly stopped to drink some water and take some rest.
At the end it worth every minute.
For me, it is the best way to experience being free.
That's it! I hope you guys enjoy it!
