The Australia Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) have announced that Matt Moss, former Rockstar Energy Makita Suzuki rider has been given a four year ban from racing after testing positive to a prohibited substance in a dope test.

Moss, who was a multi time champion in his home country of Australia, was asked to supply a sample after a long intelligence led investigation at the Australian MX Nationals last year. The sample was taken away to the Australian Sports Drug Testing Laboratory and they have reported evidence of Ostarine and its metabolites in his sample.

Motorcycling Australia reported

"Ostarine is a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) which is banned at all times in sport and is not approved for human use in Australia, except for experimental research purposes. The US Food and Drug Administration recently warned that SARMs pose serious health concerns, including increased risk of heart attack, stroke and life-threatening liver toxicity."

The ban was backdated to July 2016 which is in line with when the testing was done. This was due to him being under a provisional suspension since that time. This means Moss will not be able to participate in any sports that acknowledge the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) until the end of his four years are up, this will extend to July 15 2020 at the earliest.

Moss will be 32 at this point and so i would expect him to be considering forced retirement at this point.

Thank you @pennystockhelp :) glad you are enjoying it mate

wow super motocross..

You know it @depu! :)

What substance did he take?
Sad to hear but most cheaters get punished at some point. Either by autorities or by his own health he risked during doping.
Why is doping such a thing?
Every member of the tour de france for example takes some form of doping, but what is the point. Is it about who is the fastest or about who has the best doping?
Cheers!

Ostarine @rheteric, but yes i agree... the tour is rife with it!

Hope he will be back soon @b0y2k

I don't think we will see him race again @patasieduagh.... not professionally.
