News on this one has been whispered about in the paddock for a long time now but today GEICO Honda have confirmed they have signed Hunter Lawrence in an amazing three year deal. This will be great news for Hunter fans as he is fresh off an amazing season in MX2 and means Euro fans will have one more chance to see him take a shot at the MX2 title in the FIM Motocross World Championship next year.

Fans who watched the MXoN this weekend would have seen the 250 rider finished 4th in Moto one and 8th in Moto 2. Pretty decent in a mixed field of 250 and 450 riders!

The GEICO Honda team posted:

"We are excited to announce the signing of Australian, Hunter Lawrence. His three-year deal with us will begin in the 2019 season as he will be competing in the MXGP championship for 2018. Welcome to the team, Hunter."

With his current team Suzuki World MX2 closing down Hunter will jump aboard the new 114 Motorsports Honda for the 2018 MX2 season. Whilst 114 is owned by Giacomo Gariboldi it will receive technical and parts support from GEICO Honda.

While they wait for Hunter to complete his current deal GEICO will compete with a team of outstanding talent for 2018 consisting of RJ Hampshire, Jeremy Martin, Christian Craig, Cameron McAdoo and Chase Sexton.
