Change YOUR Mindset
Can you change the way you feel or think about yourself? Or improve how you feel just by altering your thoughts turns yes. Your brain is malleable and constantly adjusting. This thankfully gives you the ability to learn and adapt through out life but sometimes your thought patterns get the better of you.
Through out life,people have probably commented on your abilities or physical features, for example, a parent saying you are smart, a teacher recognising you are very good at math, a friend saying you are very pretty or even a boss saying you are hardworking. Overtime this messages can fix how you see yourself so because people call you smart you must be smart or because people call you beautiful you must be beautiful.
Eventually this view of yourself will slam into life's inevitable failures or criticisms. What happens next? The fixed mindset interprets common setbacks or mistakes as a shortcoming or lack of ability. This results in
- Negative emotions
- Self doubt
- Blaming others
- Quickness to give up
- Avoidance of challenges in the future
We always want people to make us feel good about ourself and it is not right. We should not live our life by expecting compliments all the time from people. We should be happy with the way we are because nobody is perfect.
In conclusion, what others feel or think about you doesn't define you,so it should not matter. Learn to love yourself and always think positively about you.
