Journal Entry

Right, so the first day back on the job again and I began in the office, went to the ship with a small crew to take off a pump from the vessel and... wow, that took all day it seems.

There is a lot of rigmarole that goes on when you go to a construction site, especially at the docks and especially when dealing with this particular client. There is no wonder that their standard working day is 12 hours long. Without such a long shift, the productive hours get lost between all the things that you need to do in order to even begin doing some work.

Other than that, fair weather! I hope that I am not working the weekend and I get to spend some time in the sun with the kids! We shall see!

Exercise and get fit!

I am back at the ship, set to sail at the end of the month and then regular life can begin once more.

Oh, yeah, it's just coming up on spring for you guys, right.

Indeed. Just.

Our "Spring Day" was on the first of September, but Cape Town has been extra rainy this spring. Which is nothing to complain about seeing as we just went through a 3 year dry spell and our dam levels were critically low early 2018 still.

Now we had proper Cape Town rain like it hasn't fallen in 6 years. This is the way the wet season used to be when I was a kid. These dry seasons people like to call a drought but it has been recorded that this area does this for a couple of years ever 50 or so years.

The Earth breathes on a rhythm that goes beyond the calender year after all.
