Have you ever read about the great Sir Alexander Fleming who discovered Penicilin?

I was opportuned to read about him and study the banquet speech which Sir Alexander Fleming delivered in Stockholm, Sweden. This was as far back as 73 years ago when he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or medicine for discovering the antibiotic drug known as Penicillin.

What I'm I driving at?

Fleming, during the banquet speech, partly attributed the discovery of Penicillin in his laboratory to factors such as 'fate', 'luck' or 'chance'.

Indeed, it's good to be lucky! In fact things get easier when fate stands closely and smiles at you. Things will just be falling in place and lone in pleasant places on you. You can even get to have dinner with the presidency!

But then, I thought and asked myself:
"Let's agree Fleming was' lucky' to discover Penicilin, as he said.

But, what if he wasn't at the laboratory working to solve problems?
What if he was idle at home and was busy blaming about the governments and the people that surround him?"

Certainly, he wouldn't have been able to notice the cascade of events in his laboratory which led to the discovery of the powerful Penicillin we all know today. Although he claimed to have been working on something different, but he was diligent enough to notice the microbial reactions which helped him to develop the antibiotic drug.

What is my point?

"Get busy doing something worth doing as.

  whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing, well._ "

The fact remains that, no matter how Fleming attributed his discovery to luck, fate or chance, he also played a crucial role by getting himself down to work; at the right place and at the right time. I'm sure he didn't succeed in his first attempt but wasn't deterrred, I assume he failed along the line but still kept going. He kept making himself to become more attractive to such 'luck' and 'chance' as he claimed.

So, Invest your time in productive activities.
Even when certain things ain't going your way, still continue to do what is needed to be done. Be readily prepared for that good thing you seek for.

Bottom line: Let that 'opportunity', 'fate', 'chance', 'luck', or whatever it is meet you at the place of your calling, purpose, work, or assignment!
